The Spanish newspaper ABC has published the article by Núria Vilanova, It Is Time for the Ibero-American Company, in it she explains the importance of the business and investment relations between Latin America and Spain, which have taken a much more bidirectional and balanced character.
“Spain has not only not lost interest in Latam, but it has increased it. Its companies travel to the region to stay and contribute to development of it. This is true of the complicated 1990s and has continued in times of prosperity and crisis” says Núria Vilanova, who also points out of the arrival of a new wave of Spanish investment in Latin America, which is increasingly being carried out not so much by big companies but by SMEs.
Furthermore, Latin American companies, which had previously made the decision of crossing borders and make the leap to regional markets, are currently making “a decisive investment in Spain as a key gateway country to the EU and a platform for EMEA destinations”. Countries like Mexico are already big time world investors in Spain, only surpassed by some of its neighbor countries.
The president of ATREVIA concludes: “It is now, more than ever, the time to grow together”. That is why CEAPI (Business Council Alliance for Ibero-America) plans to organize the Ibero-American Congress, a business platform of common interest that will take place the 26, 27 and 28 of September in Madrid. It will unite presidents of companies from different Ibero-American countries and feature first-rate speakers who will address the key topics of how to take advantage of the opportunities of a changing world.
